9 Things I Stopped Doing That Helped My Depression And Anxiety

Most of my blog posts are supported what you'll do to enhance your psychological state .

But, have you ever ever considered what you'll stop doing?

All folks during this world have some bad habits.

We pick them up throughout our life and sometimes they worsen over time.

There were quite few bad habits that made my depression and anxiety worse at the time.

I think they went hand in hand.

The worse I felt, the more severe my habits became.

I'm sure you're already thinking of a couple of bad habits that you simply have?

Anyway, at the beginning of my recovery I did tons of things, like mindset work , habit tracking and journaling.

But, I also stopped tons of things too!

Here i will be able to list the 9 things i ended doing that helped my depression and anxiety.

The Things i ended That Helped My Depression And Anxiety


There was tons of things i used to be doing once I was depressed and anxious that I didn't realize were affecting my psychological state .

I had numerous bad habits! Too many to list.

But, there have been 9 habits that basically had to prevent .

Stopping these 9 bad habits really helped my depression and anxiety and that i hope by sharing, they will assist you too.

So. let's dive in....

Alcohol


I drank way an excessive amount of once I was depressed and that i used alcohol as my escape, but more often than not it made me worse.

I would cry and become more depressed and therefore the hangovers were the worst!

Plus, once I was intoxicated i might act in embarrassing ways, which wasn't me.

Giving up alcohol while i used to be recovering was one among the simplest decisions I made.


Social Media Usage

The internet is great! But it also can be damaging to psychological state .

I found that it had been causing me to become more depressed as I checked out other peoples 'perfect' lives.

So, i made a decision to prevent using social media the maximum amount and limited my time while using it.

I also repeated to myself that folks only show the great stuff online and social media isn't reality.


Staying Up Late

Sleep is so important for your overall health and well-being.

I wont to stay awake until the first hours of the morning, watching t.v or on my phone.

Not only was the blue light from screens affecting me, but also the shortage of sleep made me more anxious and depressed.

I decided to line a bedtime of 10.30 pm and it made a huge difference to how I felt within the morning.

I still attend bed by 10.30 pm and it's key in feeling good subsequent day.


Junk Food

I think this is often a no brainer, but food isn't good for your health.

There are studies that show a link between food consumption and mental disease .

Plus, i used to be using food as how to make noise my feelings.

I was emotional binge eating and it had to stop!

So, i ended the takeaways, chocolate and anything with sugar in. it had been actually much easier abandoning food as I had stopped drinking alcohol.


Coffee

You may be thinking why coffee?

Well, coffee contains tons of caffeine which acts as a stimulant.

I was using coffee to stay me awake and i used to be drinking too much!

Too much coffee isn't good for health and may actually increase anxiety.

So, I gave up coffee and swapped it with Matcha latte which not only tastes good but has awesome health benefits too!


Comparing Myself

I wont to compare myself to everyone!

And all it did was make me feel bad about myself.

We are all different, on different paths and that we should never compare ourselves to anyone.

If you would like to vary something to be healthier and more successful roll in the hay .

But don't change it to be like someone else!

I stopped comparing myself and began living my life how I wanted to measure it and that i felt such a lot better for it!

Complaining

Oh jeez! I complained a lot!! Like a day ...

Even every hour of each day!

I was annoying myself it had been so bad.

Well, complaining never made me feel any better. It always made me feel worse.

When I stopped complaining I began to feel such a lot better! Yes it had been hard to offer up such a nasty habit, but i attempted really hard and it got easier and easier.


Beating Myself Up

Kinda like comparing myself, beating myself up wasn't making me feel good!

I was beating myself up for feeling unwell and not feeling like i wanted to try to to anything.

When I stopped beating myself up, I began to give myself self-love and care and honored where i used to be at in my life.

I knew that giving myself love and care would help me recover which is what I did.


Worrying

Yes it had been hard to prevent worrying.

At first i might concentrate to my thoughts of worry then i might question myself if my thoughts were true.

Why am I worrying? Is it true? etc...

Then in time I used mindfulness to prevent myself from worrying about the past or future and have become present within the moment. I explain everything I did to prevent worrying in my eBook Free Your Mind.

By stopping worrying i used to be ready to enjoy life more, say yes to more experiences and be happy again!

I Know it's Hard

I know that it'll be hard to offer up your bad habits, but it's a requirement to start out your recovery.

Think about it...

You can't keep doing an equivalent things and expect to vary .

So, take it step by step and stop one bad habit at a time.

It will get easier and in time you'll be ready to swap all of your bad habits.
